About / Approach

Siyue You.

I explore how places are made, experienced and remembered.

My work moves between architectural proposals, interior environments, physical fabrication and visual storytelling. The projects collected here include work developed at Pratt Institute, alongside photography and independent material and spatial studies.

Making is a way to think through an idea. A physical section can reveal something a plan does not; an assembly model can test how parts meet; a film can describe the atmosphere of a space over time. I use these different media to move between the logic of a project and the experience it could create.

The work ranges from the Harbor Waves installation and interior proposal to a near-zero-gravity degree project and the collaborative Pick N’ Place collection. Each asks a different question about how people relate to their surroundings.
